Every year around the beginning of December I start to get very itchy feet and find myself dreaming of exotic faraway lands that I can escape to over the Winter.

This year Mr & Mrs Smith have teamed up with my favourite British designer Roksanda, to create the ultimate Christmas gift card “Get a Room” to ensure that you get a stylish, sexy and incredibly fun gift this Christmas and I can’t think of a better time of year to give the gift of experience and the promise to be whisked away than at Christmas.

When my own ‘Get a Room’ gift card arrived in the post I immediately booked a mini staycation at London’s super chic Ham Yard Hotel and whisked my husband away for the night – which was the best early Christmas present yet! We’ve actually never had a stay-cation – so the experience was super fun and the Ham Yard Hotel is my new favourite London place to stay. It is fun, with a bold interior and whilst super chic, it’s not trying too hard. The rooms are HUGE and décor is cool. Whilst we never wanted to leave the room, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to try out the bowling alley…which was SOOOO fun!

I’m a new convert to the staycation… although I wouldn’t mind a trip to Bali, Australia or the Maldives…I’m pretty sure my Husband is going to be quite happy to “Get a Room!” this Christmas!
